Diwali, which is one of the biggest Hindu festivals, has been an auspicious occasion for Bollywood, and filmmakers have mostly managed to treat the audience with some big-ticket movies on the occasion. In the last five years, the movies released during the festival have turned out to be big money spinners at the Indian box office.
Trade analysts had predicted that Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shivaay, which were released as Diwali specials, would get a superb opening and make fantastic collections in the opening weekend.
