Maruti Suzuki's all-new Dzire compact sedan, launched on May 16 at a price tag starting at Rs. 5.45 lakh, has raked in over 33,000 bookings in just 11 days. The new avatar gets several changes and comes on the company's Heartect platform that also underpins premium hatchback Baleno.
For the first time, the new Dzire of Maruti Suzuki also comes without the name Swift in its badging. The compact sedan is wider by 40mm and has enhanced shoulder room in front by 20mm and rear by 30mm. It also gets an additional boot space of 62 litres and extra leg room of 55mm.
Powering Dzire is the same 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol and 1.3-litre, four-cylinder diesel engines of the previous model. While petrol engine will churn out 82bhp at 6,000rpm and 113Nm of torque at 4,200rpm, the diesel model will generate 74bhp at 4,000rpm and 190Nm at 2,000rpm.
Transmission is handled by five-speed manual gearbox, which comes as standard and five-speed AMT. The new Dzire, which complies with the safety regulations of India, offers dual airbags, ABS with EBD, pre-tensioner seatbelts and ISOFIX Child seat restraint system as standard in all models.
New Maruti Suzuki Dzire - LXi/LDi
The entry-level variant of Dzire gets basic features such as halogen headlights, black grille, black door handles, steel wheels and manual air conditioning. It features dual-tone beige and black interiors with tilt adjustable steering and power steering. Safety features such as anti-lock braking system (ABS) with EBD, brake assist and dual front airbags and ISOFIX Child seat restraint system are offered in this variant.
New Maruti Suzuki Dzire - VXi/VDi
In addition to the features offered in the base variants, the V trims of the new Dzire comes equipped with ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, body coloured ORVMs and door handles and wheel cover. The V trim is also available with AMT options and gets chrome accentuated steering and gear knob, and tachometer, rear arm rest, rear AC vents, central locking system, electrically operable ORVMs and height adjustable driver. There is also 2-DIN music system with Bluetooth, USB, CD and AUX connectivity.
New Maruti Suzuki Dzire - ZXi/ZDi
While the Z variants of the new Dzire offer most of the features of the V trims, it gets additional equipments such as reverse parking sensors, driver side pinch guard power window, keyless entry, and automatic climate control. In addition to this, there is also rear defogger, leather-wrapped steering, rear parking sensors, electrically retractable ORVMs and 15 inch alloy wheels. The Z trims also get AMT options.
New Maruti Suzuki Dzire - ZXi+/ZDi+
This is the top-end variant of the new Dzire and comes with many comfortable as well as infotainment features. It features LED projector headlamps with auto-on function, precision-cut alloy wheels and reverse parking camera. For entertainment, the top-end variants of the new Dzire get SmartPlay infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and Navigation and voice function.
