PT Astra Honda Motor -- the Indonesian subsidiary of Honda -- launched 2016 CBR150R in the presence of Repsol Honda MotoGP riders Marc Marquez and Dani Pedroza. The latest version of the CBR150R is available in Racing Red, Revolution White, Nitro Black colours in addition to the MotoGP edition that features Repsol Honda race bike livery.

Visually, the 2016 CBR150R is strikingly different from the previous-generation CBR150R. The face of the motorcycle features full LED headlamp unit, as are the turn signals. The rear seat cowl now comes shorter and taller that extends sporty look. Additionally, the new CBR150R features digital LCD instrument cluster, new exhaust system and repositioned footpegs for a more committed riding posture.

The new motorcycle uses diamond truss frame, which is lighter, that provides rigidity and flexibility. Honda claims the longer wheelbase in new CBR150R is supported with Pro-Link suspension provides stability at all speeds and road conditions. Honda has also lengthened the swingarm by 13mm and fuel-injected engine is now tilted forward by 40 degrees.

The new CBR150R is powered by 149.16cc liquid-cooled engine that develops 16.8bhp at 9,000rpm and 13.7Nm of torque at 7,000rpm mated to six-speed transmission. The motorcycle features 1,983mm in length, 694mm in width and 1,038mm in height and 135kg kerb weight.

The price for the new motorcycle starts at IDR 32.5 million -- which is approximately Rs 1.65 lakh. The India launch can be expected in the festive season and will go up against the Yamaha YZF-R15 Version 2.0.
