Vijay is known to respect all religions and the actor also organised an Iftar party for 100 Muslims.

Ilayathalapathy threw a traditional Iftar party for Muslim brothers in Chennai on Sunday, 5 July. The actor personally took care of all the arrangements and participated in the party just like an ordinary man. His photos of serving food to the guests have gone viral and this act has also won appreciation from his fans.

Vijay, who is a Christian by birth, celebrates festivals of other religions too. Not only does he respect other communities, he often tries to show communal harmony through symbolic representation or stories in his films.

On the professional front, Vijay recently wrapped up "Puli", which will hit the screens in September it is the biggest movie of the actor in his career in terms of budget. It is a fantasy adventure flick, produced by Shibu Thameens and PT Selvakumar and directed by Chimbudevan.

"Puli" has an ensemble cast of Kiccha Sudeep, Shruti Haasan, Hansika Motwani and yesteryear actress Sridevi Kapoor. Ilayathalapathy has now started his next film, which is currently being called "Vijay 59". It is directed by Atlee Kumar and has Samantha and Amy Jackson in the female lead roles.
