Shah Rukh Khan's Zero has made an average collection at the overseas box office in the first weekend. Its business is poorer than flop movies Race 3 and Thugs of Hindostan in the international markets.

Shah Rukh Khan is probably the first Indian actor to explore the US and other key international markets. Having created a huge fan base for himself, the superstar went on to make the Indian filmmakers to realize the potentiality of those foreign markets for an Indian film.

Considering its hype and promotion, his latest outing was expected to make a record-breaking collection and take his popularity to next level.

But the Shah Rukh Khan starrer opened to a poor response on Friday and word of mouth took a toll on its business on the following days. Zero collected Rs 5.42 crore from 264 screens in the US, Rs 1.28 crore from 24 screens in Canada, Rs 2.8 crore from 144 screens in the UK, Rs 1.61 crore from 58 screens in Australia, Rs 64.07 lakh from 31 screens in New Zealand and Rs 7.77 lakh from 6 screens in Malaysia.

Zero has collected approximately US$5 million (Rs 35.13 crore) at the overseas box office in the first weekend. The movie has failed to beat records of even flop movies like Race 3 (US$6.61 million) and Thugs of Hindostan (US$ 6.43 million).

It has ended up becoming the fifth highest opening weekend grosser of 2018 in the international market. Here is the list of top grossers of the opening weekend in 2018.
