After the grand success of its debut budget smartphone Yu Yureka, Indian phone maker Micromax's sister concern YU had hinted at launching a successor to the smartphone last month. Confirming the name as Yuphoria, Yu has now announced the official launch date through an official tweet.

The tweet reads, "The moment of YUphoria is coming. Have you blocked your calendar?"

The teaser appends an image mentioning the punchline of the upcoming smartphone: "Be Yuphoric."

According to earlier teasers, the upcoming Yuphoria smartphone is purported to feature a 64-bit processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB in-built memory. The device will also run on Android 5.0 Lollipop based CM12 OS out of the box.

Earlier, the company arranged an exciting contest by seeking suggestions for the upcoming smartphone's name and invited all interested designers to design themes for the upcoming smartphone.

YU's biggest two competitors in India, Xiaomi and Lenovo recently released two Android-running budget smartphones in India. The devices – Mi 4i and A7000 – run on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and pack great specifications. While the Xiaomi Mi 4i costs a little higher at ₹12,999, the Lenovo A7000 costs ₹8,999, similar to Yu Yureka. Both Mi 4i and A7000 are available exclusively through Flipkart, but Yu Yureka is available through Amazon India.

The Yu Yureka boasts a 5.5-inch 720p HD IPS display, Snapdragon 615 SoC, 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM with memory expandability support. On the camera front, the Yureka features a 13MP rear and a 5MP front camera, and runs on the Android 5.0 Lollipop-based CM12 operating system.
