Iterating the success of Yureka, Yu Televentures Ltd, a subsidiary of Micromax, has launched an upgraded version of the same model. Named Yu Yureka Plus, the phablet is sold for Rs 1,000 more than its predecessor and comes in same price tag of Lenovo's K3 Note.

Yu Yureka Plus will be available through flash sale on every Friday via Amazon.in, while the K3 Note can be purchased exclusively through Flipkart on every Wednesday. In its first three flash sales, Lenovo managed to sell almost 1.5 lakh of K3 Note in India, providing enough proof for its popularity.

Let's check out if Yu Yureka Plus can beat it.

Build and Design

Both Yu Yureka Plus and Lenovo K3 Note offer a decent build quality. While the Lenovo K3 Note comes with the same polycarbonate rear cover, the Yureka Plus looks sturdier than its predecessor. Yu has posted a video in its official YouTube channel regarding the drop test of Yu Yureka Plus, which shows that the device is much sturdier than its predecessor.

Display

Yu Yureka Plus and Lenovo K3 Note, both house a similar 5.5-inch, 1920x1080 pixels, 401PPI display. Yu Yureka Plus packs Gorilla glass 3 for added protection, which Lenovo K3 Note lacks. We found K3 Note's screen to be pretty solid, which can withstand mild scratches without attaching the bundled display shield. Still, we feel that the absence of Gorilla Glass protection is a bit let down.

Processor, RAM & Storage

Both the devices pack the same 2GB worth RAM memory and 16GB built-in storage memory expandable up to 32GB. But they differ while featuring the processor. The Yu Yuphoria Plus packs an Octa-Core Qualcomm SnapDragon 615 processor, while the Lenovo K3 Note comes powered by a MediaTek Octa-Core processor MT6752.

We have already reviewed Lenovo K3 Note and found it a beast while testing through the benchmarking suites. In AnTuTu Benchmarking 5.7.1, Lenovo K3 Note managed to score 46,375, which is quite impressive. With the score, it beat mid-budget and flagship devices such as Xiaomi MI4, OnePlus One and ASUS ZenFone 2.

In the GeekBench 3 Suite, the K3 Note scored 810 in single-core and 4,049 in the multi-core test. With the Basemark OS II and 3DMark IceStorm Unlimited Benchmark, K3 Note scored 764 and 7,730.

By comparison, Xiaomi Mi 4i, which packs the same configuration as of Yu Yureka Plus, scored 34,081 in Antutu, 633 single core and 2,151 multi core in GeekBench, 285 in Basemark OS II and 7,530 in 3DMark Ice Storm Unlimited.

Camera

There is not much difference between the camera specifications. Both of them house a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. We reviewed the Lenovo K3 Note's camera and found it quite decent in ambient lighting. While reviewing the Yureka Plus's predecessor Yu Yureka, we were impressed by its performance. We will release the results only after receiving a device for review.

Battery

Lenovo K3 Note clearly get's an upper hand in this section too by featuring a 3,000 mAh battery in comparison with Yureka Plus's 2,500 mAh battery. Since both features similar displays, RAM and octa-core processors, there is a slight chance to get a better battery life from k# Note.

Verdict

The Yu Yureka Plus and Lenovo K3 Note both have good display, RAM memory, storage and camera. Lenovo K3 Note gets an upper hand for its bigger battery and processing capability, while Yu Yureka Plus would be the choice for a sturdy and Cyanogen running phone lover.
