After the huge success of its debut phone Yureka, Micromax subsidiary Yu Televentures seems to be flying high. The company's first launch, Yu Yuphoria--a sub-Rs 7,000 budget smartphone--was pitted against various offerings by two of the biggest budget smartphone makers, Lenovo and Xiaomi.

On Tuesday, Yureka came out with another budget smartphone Yunique. The affordable smartphone comes with a price tag of Rs 4,999 and will take on the other sub-Rs 5,000 smartphones, like Lenovo A2010 and Huawei Honor Bee.

Yu Yunique will be exclusively available on Snapdeal through flash sale, which will happen at 12 noon every Tuesday. The first flash sale will happen on 15 September registration for which has already started.

Lenovo A2010 and Huawei Honor Bee both are available through Flipkart without any pre-registration. While Lenovo A2010 is available for Rs 4,990, Honor Bee can be purchased for Rs 4,499.

Here is a comparison of the specifications of the three of the cheapest smartphones to help in making decision which one is a better buy for the price:

Display

Honor Bee and Lenovo A2010 both feature a 4.5-inch display, while Yu Yunique sports a slightly bigger 4.7-inch display. Yu Yunique also has 720P (720x1280 pixels) display compared to Lenovo A2010 and Huawei Honor Bee's qHD (480x854 pixels) display. Naturally, Yu Yunique wins this round with a decent margin.

Processor, RAM and Performance

Yu Yunique comes powered by a 1.2GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 410 processor, while Lenovo A2010 packs a 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735M processor and Honor Bee gets a 1.2GHz quad-core Speedtrum SC7731 processor. In the RAM memory segment all the 3 smartphones pack 1GB RAM and 8GB storage.

We reviewed Honor Bee earlier and it scored 19,057 in AnTuTu, while on GeekBench it got 321 single-core and 1,002 multi-core scores. On BaseMark OS II, Honor Bee scored 334, while with Nenamark 2.4 it achieved the highest frame rate of 62.5fps.

A 1GB RAM device combined with S410 processor like Redmi 2 scored 20,376 in Antutu Benchmarking 5.6.2. With GeekBench 3 benchmarking test, Redmi 2 scored 472 in single core and 1,392 in multi-core test. So, we expect Yu Yunique might fetch better scores for featuring the latest operating system.

We have not reviewed Lenovo A2010 yet, but we are pretty sure it will be able to beat Yu Yunique in the benchmarking segment for the processor it runs on. Lately, PhoneArena reported, a MediaTek MT6735 running smartphone bq DENDE scored 633 single-core and 1816 multi-core by comparison with a S410 running Samsung SM-A500H's 482 single-core and 1439 multi-core score.

By saying this we are not asserting Snapdragon 410 is not a capable processor. In fact it is the most widely used processor visible in most of the budget smartphones. But if numbers are to be considered, Lenovo A2010 might beat Yu Yunique in the benchmarking competition.

Operating System

Both Lenovo A2010 and Yu Yunique run on customised edition of Android 5.1 Lollipop. While Lenovo runs on its homemade Vibe UI interface, Yu Yunique runs on CyanogemMod 12. On the other hand, Huawei Honor Bee still runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat operating system.

Battery

Lenovo A2010 and Yu Yunique tie in this segment by packing 2,000 mAh battery. Honor Bee lags in the race owing to its 1,730 mAh battery. But considering the screen resolution of all the three devices, Lenovo A2010 is expected to last few hours more than Yu Yunique. Huawei Honor Bee might draw with Yu Yunique in this segment.

Camera

Honor Bee and Yu Yunique both pack an 8MP primary camera, while Lenovo A2010 packs a 5MP rear sensor. On the front camera segment all the three devices come with a 2MP front snapper.

Verdict

If you are looking for a power performer to attend your daily needs, we prefer Lenovo A2010 over Yu Yunique with a slight margin. If you are looking for a device with better display and camera, go for Yu Yunique. And don't forget, Honor Bee prices Rs 500 less than both the devices hence can be preferred by the price conscious consumers.

If flash sales sound too annoying to you, go for Lenovo A2010, else you can go for the latest YU device.
