One of the biggest medal prospects from India in the Rio Olympics 2016, Yogeshwar Dutt, who couldn't at all make a mark in the mega sporting event, publicly apologised to one and all for his disappointing show. The 2012 London Olympics bronze medallist crashed out in the first round of his 65kg freestyle wrestling bout after an one-sided defeat to Mongolia's Ganzorigiin Mandakhnaran.

The Indian wrestler said in a video that he will bounce back strongly after his bitter defeat. He also made a strong statement against actor Salman Khan's fans, who have been vehemently criticising him on Twitter following his loss at Olympics.

If we recall, Yogeshwar had questioned the IOA's (Indian Olympic Association) decision to make 'Sultan' star, Salman Khan, the ambassador of the Indian contingent in the Rio Olympics. That criticism of the Bollywood star wasn't taken lightly by his fans and they were waiting for the right moment to take a dig at the wrestler.

Some tweets read: "#YogeshwarDutt was spewing venom against Salman Khan only, But was silent over selection of Neeta Ambani & AR Rahman, HYPOCRITE LOSER!!!! [sic]," "#YogeshwarDutt had become more famous by criticising Salman Khan on brand ambassador than his Olympic performance [sic]."

The 33-year-old, who hails from the Sonepat district in Haryana, replied to the trolls via a long Facebook video, where he spoke in Hindi. "The dogs in our country have every right to bark. I have a Facebook and a Twitter account and it is my property. No matter how much you criticise or throw expletives on me, I won't stop giving my opinion," said Yogeshwar.

"Whoever he is, a brand ambassador or whatever, I'll say what I feel is right. To my well wishers and countrymen, don't be sad or crestfallen as there are many more competitions up ahead as well as the Olympics after four years. I will train to the best of my ability and groom more youngsters," the two-time Commonwealth Games gold-medallist added.
