"Yennai Arindhaal" had above 200 shows in the Garden City and enjoyed an average of 70 per cent occupancy on its opening day. The occupancy varied from theatre-to-theatre and show-to-show. The morning and evening shows saw good occupancy in majority of the theatres, while the matinee shows witnessed low turnout.

Local traders say that the response is good in the Garden City considering it was a working day. The collections are expected to improve during the weekend.

The early estimates indicate that "Yennai Arindhaal" made about ₹1.25 crore (Gross) on the release day in Bengaluru. This is an impressive figure considering it was not a holiday.

The ticket prices varied from show-to-show; at plexes it ranged between ₹200 and ₹800. When it comes to single screens, the ticket prices were between ₹80 and ₹120.

However, the shows from Friday are coming down to 170+ due to other language releases. Bollywood movie "Shamitabh", starring our own Dhanush and Akshara Haasan - younger daughter of Kamal Haasan - and Kannada movie "Raja Rajendra" may affect the business of the Tamil movie.

Meanwhile, "Yennai Arindhaal" has got a fantastic opening in Tamil Nadu and Kerala as well. The Ajith, Trisha and Anushka Shetty starrer has opened up to mixed reviews. We have to wait and see how the movie performs in the coming days.
