Yamaha has released a new video of its much awaited R25 on Youtube, revealing that the motorbike is ready to hit the market.
The one minute long video ,first spotted by RushLane shows the R25 being readied at the company's Indonesia plant. The company's Indonesia facility currently has the capacity to produce 2,000 units per month.
Yamaha R25, a bike which conquered the minds of many auto enthusiasts across the world with its styling and performance was launched on 20 May in Indonesia, with a price tag of 53 Million Rupiah (roughly ₹2.70 lakh).
Yamaha Indonesia, which opened the online bookings for the YZF-R25 on 22 May 2014, had plans to sell only 500 bikes online, but the booking crossed 2,800 within 25 hours. It comes fitted all the goodies that once can expected and offers a power packed engine.
YZF-R25 is powered by a 250 cc liquid-cooled, in-line, four-stroke, two-cylinder engine, and can churn out a power of 36 bhp, 12,000 rpm and a peak torque of 22.1 Nm at 10,000 rpm. Built on Tubular Diamond chassis, latest in the R-series line up comes with Telescopic suspension at the front and monocross suspension at the rear. It measures 2,090 mm in length, 720 mm in width, 1,135 mm in height and has a seat height of 780 mm.
Seated on a wheelbase of 1,380 mm, the bike weighs 166 kgs and has a fuel tank capacity of 14.3 liters. It comes with the features like fuel consumption indicator, oil change indicator, trip and odo-meter and engine temperature warning. It will be available in three colours - Racing Blue, Diablo Red and Predator Black.
Although the availability of the R25 in other market is yet to be revealed by the company, rumours are that the Indian two wheeler enthusiasts could see the bike on the road in 2015. If reports are to believed, in India R25 will come with single cylinder 250 cc motor, which would make the bike affordable for the Indian two-wheeler aficionados. In Indian market, Yamaha R25 will rival the Hyosung GT250R Kawasaki Ninja 250 Mono and Honda CBR250R.
Currently, Yamaha's Indian portfolio includes Fazer, FZ-S, FZ, SZ-X, SZ-R, SZ-RR, YZF-R15 V 2.0, SS125, YBR 125, YBR 110, Crux, Ray, Ray Z and Alpha Scooters.
