Home-grown smartphone maker Xolo officially unveiled the new Omega series budget handsets in India on Friday, 5 December.
Xolo's Omega 5.0 sports HD IPS screen and ship with Android 4.4 KitKat OS with custom Hive UI powered by the MediaTek Octa-core CPU, 1GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt memory and a 2,100mAh battery. It also boasts of a 8mp Sony Exmor RS sensor main camera and 2mp snapper on the front.
On the other hand, Omega 5.5 too houses pretty much the same specifications seen inside the above model, except a few key features. It flaunts bigger 5.5-inch HD screen and house high-capacity 2,600mAh battery and a 13mp Sony Exmor IMX214 camera on the rear side.

According to reports, Xolo Omega series 5.0-inch model will hit stores in select 10 Indian cities for ₹8,999 on 10 December, whereas 5.5-inch variant would be made available on 20 December for ₹9,999.
Competition:
Xolo Omega 5.0 will be up against the popular Motorola Moto (both Gen 1 and Gen 2), Asus Zenfone 5, Lumia 535, older models like Micromax Canvas Turbo, Lava Iris X5 and others.
On the other hand, Omega 5.5 will be competing with the newly released Xiaomi Redmi Note, Alcatel OneTouch Flash, ZTE Grand S2 and others.
