Xiaomi has launched their budget Android smartphone Redmi 2 in India. Available for ₹6,999 the budget Android smartphone will be available in India on Flipkart via flash-selling process.

The pre-booking of the Redmi 1S successor is expected to start from 24 March. Keeping Xiaomi's previous sales record in mind, we expect this device is meant to do well in the country.

However, currently there are several smartphones from numerous vendors are available at similar price point. Days back Lenovo launched their budget 4G smartphone A6000 and Motorola released their Moto E 2nd Generation at the same price.

Even another not-so-known smartphone vendor InFocus, and the US based smartphone company debuted in India with their budget smartphone M2. There are several ones to mention in the list, but Xiaomi has maintained it's own space by sticking to the basics. Good hardware specifications offered with a thin-line revenue margin.
