Tomorrowland, one of the highly popular and prestigious music fests in the world, will likely come to India for the first time and make the music lovers go crazy.
Belgium's prime Electronic Dance and Music (EDM) festival, the massive Tomorrowland, have completed its 10th anniversary this year and is considered to be one of the Europe's major exports to the world of EDM.
With most sought-after talents and growing number of fans each year, Tomorrowland has taken the EDM world to another level. Since it's inception in 2005, it has become one of the most influential music festivals in today's world.
From Avicii, Tiesto, David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia, Armin van Buuren and Axwell to Paul van Dyk, Fatboy Slim, Steve Aoki and other popular artists having graced Tomorrowland, no wonder it would take India by storm. Tomorrowland's India visit would also mark the biggest music event in the country till date.
Although, Tomorrowland's India visit is not yet confirmed, the buzz in the local EDM circuit suggest that the final decision of Tomorrowland debuting in India will be made in October.
"The live performances wing of Universal Music India will be bringing the feted Tomorrowland experience to India. India has emerged as a major EDM destination after Sunburn and it's no surprise that there is international attention on the scene here. Universal is looking to expand its live music space in India and there can be nothing bigger than Tomorrowland to do it for them. It'll be the biggest event in the country's growing music calendar." an industry source told Asian Age.
Universal Music India is headed by frontman of the country's heavy metal legends Brahma, Devraj Sanyal.
When asked about Universal Music India's involvement with Tomorrowland, Sanyal said: "We're neither confirming, nor denying that we're doing Tomorrowland... or other projects for that matter. We're currently ironing out some details of a project we're working on and will make an announcement when the time is right... probably in October. We've consolidated on our merchandise business as well as non-label ones, so intellectual property will be a major part of our focus now."
Under the Tomorrowland World banner, the team has also performed in the US and this year they will make their debut in South America as Tomorrowland Brasil.
It now remains to be seen until the major announcement is made, if Tomorrowland India makes its way to the land of music lovers.
