Microsoft is ready to unveil its Windows 10 OS in a first consumer reveal set for next month. Microsoft has sent invitations for an event scheduled for 21 January, where the company plans on disclosing more details about Windows 10. The event will be held at Microsoft's Redmond campus, where the company's CEO Satya Nadella, operating systems chief Terry Myerson and Windows Phone exec Joe Belfiore will take the stage.

Microsoft originally unveiled Windows 10 at a small event back in September. The event was mainly focused on developers. But the second event is expected to be consumer-focused, where Microsoft plans on showing the old favorites like the Start Button, Recycle Bin and new tweaks like refined animations, icons and Continuum UX.

Microsoft has sent a cryptic invite, which reads "Windows 10: The next chapter", and shows the date and venue.

There have been a lot of rumors about the Windows 10's full release. The most recent report from Reuters indicated that the release of Windows 10 is slated for sometime next fall in September, according to the company's Chief Operating Officer, Kevin Turner

Microsoft has made its Windows 10 technical preview available for developers for some time now. The new OS aims at unifying all Microsoft platforms for gaming, mobile and PC. This will be seen as the biggest development in Microsoft's OS history, which was crippled with the negative reviews for the touch-friendly Windows 8 OS.
