Deepika Padukone has been on a roll ever since "Cocktail" hit screens in 2012. With back-to-back blockbusters in 2013-14 – "Race 2", "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani", "Chennai Express", "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela", "Happy New Year" – this leading lady established a foothold in the industry earning herself the tag of 'Reigning Queen of Bollywood'.

However, she did put forth performance-based movies as well - "Finding Fanny" and "Piku". Although the former didn't roar at the box office, the Shoojit Sircar directorial has minted a little over र 100 crore worldwide, as of now.

While she was busy enjoying the fame, Kangana Ranaut quietly made inroads with her acting chops in "Queen". According to a Bollywood Life report, she has a strong resume with widely appreciated films and stellar performances.

On May 22, when Aanand L Rai's "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" opened at the theatres, the actress impressed cine-goers once again with her perfect portrayal of Kumari Kusum Sangwan aka Datto. The rom-com is being loved by all and has been making money too.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh's tweets, "TWMR" has raked in र 38 crore in India and र 17 crore overseas, taking the total to a whopping र 55 crore.

This means, it has outshined "Piku" to become the highest overseas opener of 2015. The Deepika starrer minted र 14.52 crore in its opening weekend.

So will Kangana dethrone Deepika with "TWMR" box office collections? With both the movies running at theatres, it's too soon to predict. But, the former has definitely arrived and is here to give a tough competition to her peers.

In other news, the "Piku" actress might be driven by competition but she takes it in a good way. Talking to Mail Online India, Deepika said sports background has helped her understand 'competition' in a better way adding she never lets herself forget how competitive showbiz is.

On the other hand, what makes Kangana strive harder is her fear of being jobless.

"Many a times I wake up thinking what if I don't get work anymore? Where will I go and what will I do? That's why I make this constant effort not to be idle and keep working continuously," Deccan Chronicle quoted her as saying.
