Gorgeous Samantha seems to have bagged a biggie. Well, the actress has been approached to play the lead role in a biopic of a legendary actress.
Rumours are rife that Samantha has been offered to play the lead role in Nadigaiyar Thilagam Savitri's biopic. The talks have been initiated, but she has not signed the project on the dotted lines yet. If the 29-year old accepts the film, the flick directed by Nag Ashwin will easily turn out to be the biggest movie of her career.
"We are planning to have some sort of poll. Savitri was a people's actress and she was owned by them. It will be nice to hear what people have to think about the project and see who they will recommend for the lead role. We want to make the whole process very interactive," Ashwin had earlier said while referring to the rumours pertaining to the female lead in the film.
Savitri remains an icon in South India. She started her career in Telugu films and expanded her base to Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam films. The actress featured in Hindi movies as well.
On the other hand, Samantha is busy with multiple projects. The Kaththi girl is currently working on Vishal and Arya-starrer Irumbu Thirai. The actress has also signed Vijay Sethupathi and Fahad Faasil-starrer Aneethi Kathaigal.
She is likely to bid goodbye to acting as she plans to marry her beau Naga Chaitanya in 2017.
