'Will Bring Back Every Penny of Black Money,' Assures PM Narendra Modi on 'Mann ki Baat' Radio Address

In his second radio address to the nation -- Mann ki Baat --- Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated his stand on bringing back 'every penny' illegally stashed abroad.

"Please trust this Pradhan Sevak. Recovery of black money from abroad is a matter of faith, and a commitment for me. I am sure that countrymen trust me on this but I would still want to say that every penny of illegal money gone abroad from India will be returned," Modi said in his radio message on Sunday.

"I want to assure people that with the kind of information currently with me, I am sure the government is on the right track," Modi added.

Prime Minister Modi, in his second radio message also said that no one could have imagined that Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan would become such a mass movement. He said positive results are already visible. He said there are two aspects to this: First, how to clean the dirt, and second, how 'not do anything that spreads dirt'.

He also expressed satisfaction that people from all walks of life who come to meet him, including government officers, sportspersons, cine-stars, businessmen, scientists, etc, talk about taking responsibility for social issues. The Prime Minister said he sees this as a big change.

In his radio address, the PM also expressed happiness that sales of khadi had more than doubled since his last radio address, where he had suggested that people should keep at least one khadi garment at home.

"I urged people to purchase khadi last time. I never said become khadiwadi but urged people to buy some khadi, and the sale for the fabric shot up," he said.

Touching up on the issue of drug abuse, Prime Minister Modi invited suggestions from people on how to tackle the menace of drug abuse among the younger generation. "I got a letter (I used to get this even earlier when I was not PM) on the issue of drugs. I am going to talk about it in my next programme," he said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's radio show 'Mann Ki Baat' is expected to be aired every month on All India Radio (AIR). Those who missed his live radio message that was broadcasted on AIR at 11 am on 2 November, can watch it again on newsonair.nic.in.

Apart from being telecast on AIR, there will be a repeat telecast on Doordarshan (DD) channels.
