Barcelona are the FIFA Club World Cup champions of 2015. Barcelona defeated River Plate 3-0 in the final of the Club World Cup at the Yokohama International Stadium in Japan on Sunday.

Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi scored for the Spanish champions. Messi opened the scoring in the 36th minute of the match.

Neymar opened up River Plate's defensive wall with a brilliant cross that was headed down by Suarez onto Messi's feet, and he comfortably found the back of the net.

River Plate showed good resilience in the first half of the game. The defenders did pretty well to stop the runs of Messi and Neymar down the two flanks. But they were not good enough to stop Messi from scoring.

It did not take too long for the Spanish giants to double their lead. River Plate were on the attacking front, when they lost possession of the ball to Andreas Iniesta. Iniesta pushed the ball forward to Sergio Busquets and the midfielder played it through to Suarez. He ran with the ball with a lot of confidence and finished it on his own. He had support from Neymar on his side but Suarez has been in brilliant form and decided to go on his own.

Suarez came back to haunt the River Plate defenders yet again in the 68th minute of the game. Neymar had a lot of space down the flank and a clever chip from the Brazilian was picked up by Suarez. He kept his calm to head the ball into the back of the net and claim the man of the match award. Suarez has now scored 21 times in the last 18 matches for Barcelona.
