Juventus and Borussia Dortmund face-off in the first leg last sixteen of the Champions League at the Juventus stadium on Tuesday.

Even after the departure of their highly successful manager Antonio Conte, who helped them win numerous trophies including three back-to-back Serie A titles, the Old Lady have done pretty well this season.

They are currently nine points clear at the top of the Serie A, having only lost one league game this season. Apart from that, they are also in the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia

Despite not being that convincing in the group stages of the Champions League, they managed to qualify as the runners up behind Atletico Madrid.

Now the Old Lady are up against Borussia Dortmund in the last sixteen of the Champions League.

Considering their form and Dortmund's form in domestic competitions, Juventus are expected to cruise past the German side in the last sixteen of the Champions League.

But Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegriinsists that Dortmund are a good side and the Old Lady will not be taking them for granted.

"I think it's an anomaly that Borussia are in the position they are in [in the Bundesliga]. Come the end of the season, I expect they will be among the leading clubs because the league is still tight apart from Bayern; they are in a league of their own."

Despite insisting that Dortmund are not better than Juventus, the former AC Milan boss admits Jürgen Klopp's men are very "well-organised" and known for their attacking style of football.

"Nobody is saying they are better than us but they are very fast and technically strong up front. They are well-organised and play good football, particularly in attack," said Allegri, adding that his side's basic plan will be not to "concede" in the first leg.

"Playing at home, it is fundamental that we don't concede; they score a lot though."

Meanwhile, Dortmund will also be hoping to do well in the Champions League, following their poor run in the Bundesliga this season.

The Die Borussen, who finished second in the Bundesliga last season, are currently in 12th place, having already recorded 11 defeats in the league this season.

However, Dortmund, who have done well in the DFB-Pokal this season, have shown improvement in their Bundesliga form of late, recording consecutive wins in their last three fixtures against Freiburg, Mainz 05 and Stuttgart.

And Dortmund manager Jürgen Klopp hopes that his side can continue this form in the last sixteen of the Champions League.

"We've won three in a row, it's a great situation," Klopp told UEFA's official website. "We know that the day after tomorrow, our relegation battle goes on. But tomorrow night, you're not going to see that we're in a relegation battle in the Bundesliga."

The 47-year-old German also dismissed suggestions that his side were "more motivated for the Champions League than the Bundesliga," insisting that they "just got a bit more room" in Europe.

"We were never more motivated for the Champions League than the Bundesliga, we just got a bit more room in the Champions League, which will not be the case here. I'm just glad that the first half of the season is behind us now."

Klopp feels that his side have become better in the second half of the season due to them overcoming their injuries and other problems.

"The most important thing that has changed is our physical shape. We knew that if we had the time to train and work on the tactical side of things, which was not possible in the first half of the season, then we could be a lot better. That's what has happened. We've still had problems – but not physical ones. We've just got to regain confidence."
