"The Russian air task force delivers 30-40 air strikes daily for their (FSA) support alone. They are also receiving assistance in the form of armaments, ammunition and supplies," Chief of the Russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov was quoted as saying on Monday.

The FSA rebels receive support and training from the United States, which has accused Russia of deliberately targeting these rebels in their airstrikes in Syria.
