Cricketer-turned-politician Kirti Azad, who was suspended from the BJP for speaking against the alleged corruption in the Delhi cricket board, has asked the party to watch out for his next move as he has planned to make some "more revelations" in the days ahead.
"Wait and watch what I do next. Now I will tell everyone," he said, according to Hindustan Times.
The BJP issued a statement on Wednesday, suspending Azad from the party for his "anti-party activities" in connection with the alleged Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) scam. Azad had on Sunday alleged massive irregularities in the DDCA, when Jaitley was the head for 13 years.
Azad, a three-time Lok Sabha member from Darbhanga, Bihar, said he did not expect that a person will be "thrown out" of the party for speaking the truth and "following prime minister's policy of 'neither will I be corrupt, nor will I let others be'".
"I am really very saddened. I never though that BJP would stoop to that level that a person who had joined them from an illustrious Congress family is suspended for fighting corruption... I will go to the 'margdarshak mandal' and ask them that if a person speaks against corruption does the party crucify such a person and suspend him," Azad told PTI.
He even questioned his suspension saying that the BJP did not follow the protocol. "The due process has not been followed. They did not serve a show cause notice. If you have to suspend an MP, you have to move the Parliamentary Board. Did you do that?" he said, according to Hindustan Times.
Shah accuses Azad of colluding with Congress and AAP against BJP
BJP president Amit Shah had sent a written communication to Azad informing him about the suspension for "breaching the discipline of the party" and "colluding with the Opposition parties, including Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party, with the sole purpose of embarrassing the party and its office bearers".
"You have acted and carried on propaganda against the decisions of the party," Shah wrote to Azad, The Indian Express reported.
Meanwhile, Azad said that the allegations made by Shah are "unfair". "How can raising issues of corruption become anti-party activism? Is it not unfair to blame me without even looking into the charges I have raised? Many have raised corruption in IPL and BCCI? Will they term them as anti-party?" he said.
"To say that I have colluded with other Opposition parties shows their stupid mindset. I had been raising this issue since long. I joined the party in 1993. How can they suspend me today for this reason?" Azad added.
