Fan-favourite Korean drama "W-Two Worlds" has come to an end and as fans bid a bitter-sweet good bye to the TV show, many were left wondering if there would be a season 2.

The popular MBC TV show wrapped up its pilot season with Kang Chul (Lee Jong-suk) and Oh Yeon-joo's (Han Hyo-joo) union on Wednesday, Sept. 14. The show's protagonists found happiness in each other; however this came at a cost. In the finale instalment, episode 16, Yeon-joo's father died for his daughter's happiness.

At this point, fans of "W-Two Worlds" no doubt want Lee Jong-suk and Han Hyo-joo to take up their roles again, but it remains to be seen if this will happen. So far, there hasn't been news about the show's revival.

Furthermore, in what seems like a definite farewell gesture to fans, the show's special episode will air on Saturday, Sept. 17. According to various outlets, the final instalment, episode 17, will depict some memorable moments and behind-the-scenes footage from the show.

"W-Two Worlds," which premiered on July 20, climbed up the ratings chart, beating Suzy Bae and Kim Woo Bin's drama, "Uncontrollably Fond." According to TNmS Ratings, the show gained an average of 14.59 percent viewership while "Uncontrollably Fond," which aired at the same time on KBS received 8.2 percent viewership.

The Korean drama show became a hit due to its unusual plot. The real and fictional universe in "W-Two Worlds" generated interest and excitement as characters traversed through these different landscapes. Unfortunately, fans may not be able to see more of this as season 2 seems unlikely as of now.

"W-Two Worlds" episode 17 airs at 9.20 am KST, on Saturday, Sept. 17,  on MBS.
