After Yennai Arindhaal (Sathyadev IPS) and Arrambam (Dheera), one more movie of Ajith Kumar is being dubbed in Kannada, giving a further push to the pro-dubbing movement in Sandalwood. The actor's movie Vivegam, which is an international spy thriller, will reach the Kannada audience soon.
Harivu Creations has acquired the dubbing rights for an undisclosed amount and titled the movie Commando. BR Ratheesha, the executive director of the company, told International Business Times India that they are preparing for the release. "The film has bagged 'U/A' from the censor board and ready to hit the screens soon," he said.
According to Ratheesha, the Ajith-starrer was a big-budget movie made in a Hollywood style and believes that the movie gives a different experience to the Kannada audience. "It is a rich film made with Rs 80 crore. It has advanced action sequences shot in Europe which our viewers have not seen in straight-Kannada film," he added.
Ratheesha adds that they have plans to release Commando across the state.
Harivu Creations is founded by nine techies and they entered the business with a motto to bring non-native content to the Kannada audience. "Our desire is not just born out of love for the language, but also to tap the untapped market. We see a huge potential in the dubbing market in the years to come and I feel it will be a successful business model," he said.
The team is now planning to launch the audio soon and the trailer will be out next week.
The Siruthai Siva-directorial has Kajal Aggarwal in the female lead and Vivek Oberoi in an important role. Kamal Haasan's daughter Akshara had done a cameo.
Coming to Ajith's previous dubbed movies, after decades of ban on dubbed movies, Yennai Arindhaal (Sathyadev IPS) and Arrambam (Dheera) were released by Darshan Enterprises. The films had released in over 40 screens and met with decent response despite facing issues from the anti-dubbing lobby.
