Following the successful trailer launch, the upcoming Vishal-starrer "Aambala" is in the news again.

An aspiring filmmaker, Harikrishnan, has filed a petition in Madras High Court against the makers of the action masala film, claiming that he had already registered the title "Aambala" with the Tamil Film Producers Council for his own story. He has also requested the court to stall the release of the film, which is slated for a Pongal release on Thursday.

"I had registered the title 'Aambala' with the Tamil Film Producers Council for my story. I have now learnt that the makers of Vishal's film have used the same title without even seeking my permission. Hence, I've taken the legal recourse," Harikrishnan said, according to IANS.

Meanwhile, the makers of the Sundar C-directed flick have rubbished the allegations regarding the film's title and have confirmed that the film will release on the scheduled date itself.

Many theatres in Tamil Nadu have also opened pre-booking of tickets. "Aambala" stars Hansika Motwani in the female lead role.

Other cast members of the film are Vaibhav Reddy, Prabhu, Madhuurima, Madhavi Latha, Ramya Krishnan, Kiran Rathod and Aishwarya.

"Aambala" - produced by Vishal under his home banner Vishal Film Factory - will clash with Ajith Kumar's "Yennai Arindhaal" and Vikram's "I".

The film's trailer, which was released online on 31 December, has been receiving an overwhelming response from fans as it has already been viewed more than one million times.
