A statement from Vikram and Dhruv's Fans Association has denied reports about the budding actor driving his car under the influence of alcohol when he was involved in a road accident in Chennai on Sunday, August 12.
According to a press release, Dhruv was returning from a friend's place when his car rammed into three autos and a car. Three people were injured in the incident.
"We would like to humbly point out that this accident occurred by a lapse in attention and nothing else," the press release read.
The incident occurred at Teynampet in Chennai when Dhruv's a car rammed into three auto-rickshaws parked in the area. One of the auto-rickshaw drivers was sleeping in his vehicle and reportedly suffered a fracture in his leg.
A video had surfaced online where a youth, who was allegedly in Dhruva's car, was being interrogated by the police. He was seen running away when he realised that it was being recorded.
A case had been registered against Vikram's son for rash and negligent driving and causing hurt by act endangering life of others. He has received bail.
Dhruv is making his acting debut with Varma, a remake of Telugu hit movie Arjun Reddy. National Awards winner Bala is directing the flick.
