Vikram's "I" continues its dream run at the Malaysia box office with the movie now beating Vijay's "Kaththi" and Rajinikanth's "Lingaa" at collection centres.

"I", which was released on 14 January, has earned a total of MYR 3,146,295 (₹5.36 crore) in 10 days from 40 screens, beating the records of "Lingaa", which had earned a little above ₹4 crore, and "Kaththi", which had collected ₹3.90 crore.

In the first weekend, "I" raked in ₹3.74 crore from Malaysian box office. Interestingly, the Tamil movie has retained all the 40 screens, which clearly shows that the movie is still enjoying a good occupancy in theatres.

If "I" can set a new benchmark at Malaysian box office is something only time will tell. The movie should have a good run for at least two weeks to cross the 10-crore mark here.

However, the response for "I" has remained same in other centres too. The Tamil movie has minted above ₹35 crore from foreign markets from three versions. The business of Vikram and Amy Jackson's flick is good in the US (₹4.85 crore from Tamil version), Canada (₹1.99 crore), UK (₹3.35 crore) and Australia (₹1.62 crore).

Meanwhile, the Tamil film has grossed ₹184+ crore worldwide from Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions. It has earned above ₹102 crore (nett) from South India alone.

Coming back to the Malaysian box office, another Pongal release "Aambala" has minted a total of ₹43.07 lakh from 10 screens. It had earned ₹23.28 lakh in the opening weekend from the same number of screens.

"I" is a romantic-action movie directed by Shankar and produced by Aascar Ravichandran. It has Vikram, Amy Jackson and Upen Patel in the key roles.
