Malayalam film "Vikramadithyan" is all set to make it big this festive season. The Lal Jose directorial has collected ₹3.10 crore from theatres across Kerala within three days of its release. The film was released on 25 July in more than 300 screens worldwide, highest opening ever by a Malayalam film.

"Vikramadithyan" is the first Eid release of 2014 and the film opened to positive reviews. It is expected to gross more as the week progresses. The makers of the film are also expecting a huge turn over due to Eid holidays.

 

The Malayalam film industry saw the release of two other films last week- "Manglish" directed by Salam Bappu was released on 27 July and "Hi I'm Tony" directed by Jean Paul Lal on 26 July. "Manglish" opened to mixed review from the audience as well as critics. The film, starring Mammootty in the lead is expected to pick up during the Eid holidays. Meanwhile, "Hi I'm Tony" did not impress the audience and had a poor opening compared to the other two releases.

Industry insiders are now waiting to see how Dileep starrer "Avatharam," releasing on 1 August is going to make a mark in the box office. Dileep films are usually known for making huge turn over in the industry and one will have to see whether "Vikramadithyan" will continue its steady progress in the box office.

"Vikramadithyan" starring Dulquer Salmaan, Unni Mukundan and Namitha Pramod in the lead is now running house full in almost all screens in Kerala. The all India collection and international collection of the film is yet not reported, but industry is waiting for another big turn over in the box office with the overall collection of the film. One will have to wait and see if this multi starrer will cross the success of "Bangalore Days," which collected nearly 10 crore in the first week of its release.

"Vikramadithyan" is a complete entertainer with punch dialogues, fight sequences, dance performances and soulful songs and revolves around the theme of love, friendship and revenge. The film is scripted by Iqbal Kuttipuram and the cinematography is handled by Jomon T John. The music of the film is composed by Bijipal. "Vikramadithyan" also has the star cast of Anoop Menon, Charmila, Lena, Sidhartha Siva and Joy Mathew and Nivin Pauly.
