"Ilayathalapathy" Vijay is currently working in Murugadoss's "Kaththi", but speculations about the actor's next film have been doing the rounds for the past few months.

Vijay is all set to team up with director Chimbudevan for the first time in a new project. The untitled film is referred to as "Vijay 58" by fans and the media, as it will be the actor's 58th project.

The film, touted to be a fantasy entertainer, boasts of an ensemble cast including versatile actress Sridevi and Kannada star Sudheep of "Naan Ee" fame.

Latest buzz is that Vijay will be romancing two heroines in the film - Shruti Haasan and Hansika Motwani. It will be Shruti's first project with Vijay, while Hansika will be teaming up with him for the second time. The "Singam 2" actress has romanced ilayathalapathy in his 2011-release "Velayudham."

Cinematography Natarajan (Nutty) has reportedly been roped in to wield the camera and Muthuraj will be the art director.

Apparently, composer Devi Sri Prasad will work on the film's soundtracks. Earlier, there were reports that AR Rahman will be composing the songs but now reports emerge that DSP will handle the music for the big budget entertainer. An official announcement regarding the cast and crew is yet to be made.

Expectations are high for the film even before it could go on floors, thanks to a big star cast. The film's shooting is likely to commence in September or October after Vijay completes "Kaththi," which is reportedly in the final stage. Ilayathalapathy has joined hands with popular director AR Murugadoss for this project, produced by Ayngaran International. The film's shooting is progressing at a brisk pace and it is expected to be wrapped soon.

A lot is riding on "Kaththi" as Vijay and Murugadosss have teamed up for the second time post the stupendous success of 2012-release "Thuppakki."

"Kaththi" is deemed as an action entertainer with Vijay playing dual roles. Samantha, comedian Sathish and bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh also appear in pivotal roles in the project. Youth sensation Anirudh will be handling the film's soundtracks.

The first look  of "Kaththi" will be released on 22 June as a special birthday gift for Vijay fans. The action entertainer is slated to hit the screens for Diwali this year. It is expected to clash with Vishal-Hari's "Poojai" which will be out in theatres on the same day.
