Video Chelsea vs PSG Full Match Highlights: Blues Exit Champions League After Losing to Parisians on Away Goals

Chelsea were dramatically knocked out of the Champions League on away goals (3-3 aggegate) following a 2-2 draw in the second leg of the round of sixteen at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

Gary Cahill opened the scoring in the 81^st minute but David Luiz forced the game into extra time by finding the nets with four minutes remaining on the clock.

Eden Hazard again put the Blues ahead in the 96^th minute, but PSG snatched a late equaliser, knocking Jose Mourinho's men out of the Champions League on away goals.

The game started with both sides playing very cautiously as neither Chelsea nor PSG were able to create clear cut opportunities.

After a pretty uneventful first half an hour PSG striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic was sent off in the 31^st minute for a reckless challenge on Oscar. Although the Swede international appeared to have tried to pull out of the challenge, he was shown a straight red card after Chelsea players put pressure on referee Bjorn Kuipers.

Oscar himself was very lucky not to be sent off in the 39^th minute after he brought down Marco Verratti just moments after collecting his first yellow.

Just before the end of the first half, Chelsea players started appealing for a penalty after Edinson Cavani clipped Diego Costa in the box. However, the referee waved away the protests and the first half ended goalless.

Cavani came very close to breaking the deadlock in the 57^th minute after he managed to beat Chelsea's offside trap and get the ball beyond Thibaut Courtois. However, his effort from a tight angle struck the near post.

The Chelsea goalkeeper was needed again as he kept out a good effort from Javier Pastore in the 70^th minute.

The Blues finally broke the deadlock in the 81^st minute through Cahill, who smashed the ball past Salvatore Sirigu from 12 yards after PSG failed to clear their lines from a corner.

Just as Mourinho's men seemed to have put the game to bed, Luiz found the nets with a good header from a corner in the 86^th minute, forcing the game into extra-time.

Six minutes into extra-time, Chelsea again reclaimed the lead after Silva conceded a penalty for raising his hand while challenging the ball with Kurt Zouma. Hazard stepped up and eased the ball past Sirigu.

Finally just as Chelsea's progression to the last eight of the Champions League looked inevitable, Silva, making amends for his earlier mistakes, found the equaliser with a looping header from a corner in the 114^th minute, sending PSG in the quarter-finals of the European competition.
