"The Vampire Diaries" executive producer Julie Plec has revealed plots of the show ahead of season 6 premiere on 2 October. The show is reportedly going to have a new villain who happens to have a "psychopathic personality."

"I think that may be one of the greatest tragedies of the disappearance of the Other Side is the permanent loss of Uncle Mason," Plec told Entertainment Weekly.

The premiere of season 6 will take place four months after season 5 and it is going to be a fresh start with the introduction of new characters. Moreover, the old characters will have to cope with Damon and Bonnie's death.

"Some are doing well; some are not. And when all is said and done, there are these looming questions of 1) Is there any hope for Damon and Bonnie to ever return to their world, and 2) Is there any hope that they'll be able to literally go home again," added Plec.

Meanwhile, show runner, Caroline Dries has also talked about Alaric. She said that he is a vampire hunter, who turned into a vampire before passing away. He may return to the show as adult figure with some emotional baggage, according to Hitfix

The new villain with a "psychopathic personality" will be called Chris Wood and he will stay on the show for a while, reported the Website.

Meanwhile, lot of new love triangles will be incorporated to make the show alive. It is reported that relationship between Stefan and Elena will happen in non-traditional way while they deal with their own stuff.

"You'll have your moments of frustration where the fans hate us and then we'll have moments where they're freaking out and being thankful, so there's kinda like that push-and-pull that we do, but I think it's done in a way that feels fresh for a show that's in Season 6 and has had the same characters and this love triangle for a long time," Dries said.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 6 marks the return of Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley and Candice Accola.
