Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's father-in-law Madhav Patankar passed away at a private hospital, Shiv Sena sources said on Monday, June 15 due to age-related health issues. 

A businessman from Dombivali in Thane, Patankar, 78,  breathed his last at Criticare Hospital in Andheri. Patankar's daughter Rashmi Thackeray is the Editor of Saamana, Marmik and Dophar Ka Saamana.

Condolences pour in 

Nationalist Congress Party MP Supriya Sule expressed grief over the demise and offered her condolences to the bereaved family members. She tweeted, "Deeply Saddened to hear to about the demise of Shri. Madhav Patankar - Father of Mrs Rashmi Uddhav Thackeray. My Heartfelt Condolences. May He rest in peace. My Thoughts and Prayers with the Patankar and Thackeray Family."

Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari conveyed his condolences to CM Uddhav Thackeray on the demise of  Madhav Govind Patankar.

Today, June 15, the state government was to sign separate MoUs with 12 large companies from across the globe, including those from the US, China, South Korea and Singapore, which now stands postponed due to the sad demise.
