TVS Motor Company is gearing up for the launch its 200cc version of the successful Apache motorcycle. A TVS official told IBTimes India the company is getting ready for a launch on 20 January. Although, the company did not divulge which motorcycle will be out first, industry sources believe it will be the TVS Apache 200.

The Apache in its most powerful RTR 200 version will be powered by a 200cc, single-cylinder, four-valve, liquid-cooled engine that is expected to churn out 25-30bhp of power. The cooling system for the engine is sourced from BMW Motorrad.

The design will be inspired from the Draken X21 concept TVS showcased at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. It will feature a razor-sharp design with chiseled edges. The new Apache will employ telescopic front forks, while rear gets mono shock suspension. All-digital instrument cluster, LED tail lamps and split seats are the other additions.

A report in AutocarIndia said the Victor brand will be relaunched at the same event. The Victor is considered the most successful motorcycle of the company, and also the first motorcycle built by TVS on its own.

The Victor falls in the entry level commuter segment and is expected employ the same 110cc engine with new updates. The Victor was first launched in India in 2001. TVS Motor currently holds a market share of 17% in the segment with three models. The relaunch of Victor will boost the commuter segment, which is usually the volume selling segment in two-wheeler market.
