Naagin 2, the Mouni Roy-starring weekend show on Colors, is back to rule the Television Rating Points (TRPs) charts every week. It has overshadowed all other daily soaps from the first week itself.

According to data released by television audience measurement agency, the Broadcast Audience Research Council India (BARC), Naagin 2, which hit the screens on October 8, registered 8 million views in urban areas, and 13 million views among urban and rural areas during week 41 (October 8-October 14) of 2016. Going by the report, it appears that Naagin 2 will create a record similar to its previous season.

The second show in the list of top scorers is Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki, which received 10.5 million viewers, while Saath Nibhaana Saathiya grabbed the third spot with 10 million views in both urban and rural areas. Both the shows retained their spots.

Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, with its interesting twists and turns, has managed to secure the fourth position with 9.6 million views. Kumkum Bhagya, which had been at the top position for the past several weeks, slipped to the fifth slot, registering 9.3 million views in week 41.

Surprisingly, the Krystle D'Souza-starrer, Brahmarakshas-Jaag Utha Shaitan, which had been at the top slot for several weeks, failed to make it to the list of the five most-watched TV shows in week 41.

As for the ranking of television channels, Star Plus continues to remain at the top in urban areas. It was followed by Colors TV and Zee Anmol. The other top channels are Zee TV, Sony Pal, Life OK, Sony Entertainment Television, Star Utsav, Rishtey and Sony SAB.

TRP is a tool to measure viewers' preferred programmes and the popularity of a particular channel based on data collected from a particular geography and demography.
