Trisha Krishnan, who forayed into Sandalwood with Puneet Rajkumar starrer "Power***", was reportedly offered a role in "Ranna" starring Sudeep, but the actress turned down the offer.

She was then approached for an item number in the film and she turned down that offer too.

While these rumours have been doing the rounds in Sandalwood for the last couple of days, there is clarity on the issue now. Trisha Krishnan's mother has clarified that no such offer has come her way and she has not turned down any Kannada film. The upcoming Kannada movie is a remake of Telugu super hit movie "Attarintiki Daredhi".

"Leave alone the special song; no one even approached us for any role in the said Kannada film!" Uma Krishnan told the Deccan Chronicle. There were buzz that Nanda Kishore wanted Trisha Krishan to play the female lead but she could not take up. He then reportedly wanted her to do a special number, which was done by Mumtaz in "Attarintiki Daredi", which starred Pawan Kalyan.

Meanwhile, Rachita Ram and Haripriya have been roped in to play the roles played by Samantha and Pranitha in the original. South Indian actress Madhoo is returning to Sandalwood with "Ranna". Devaraj, Sharath Lohitashwa and others are in the supporting roles. The film's music has been composed by V Harikrishna, Sudhakar S Raj has taken care of cinematography and KM Prakash is editing the film.

On the other hand, the title of the film has landed in a controversy. Self-proclaimed fans of poet Ranna have opposed the film over its title, citing that the remake film would cause a huge embarrassment to one of the greatest poets of the Kannada language. The film's team is yet to comment on the issue.

"Ranna" will hit the theatres soon.
