The smartphone industry witnessed heavy rains in July but of a different kind; new smartphones with different price points flooded the Indian market ranging from expensive handsets such as Oppo Find X to pocket-friendly Infinix Hot 6 Pro.

If you are looking for a brand new phone and confused, considering the fact that there are so many to choose from, we got your back. Here is a list of handpicked devices which are worth checking out.

Oppo Find X:

We start with the most expensive of the lot. Oppo Find X is one of the most visually appealing phones in the market. Ingenious Oppo engineers have succeeded in creating a unique design that makes full utilisation of the front-panel without losing display real estate for physical components such as the camera.

They have a created a fast sliding camera tray that hides both the front and back of the camera. But, once you tap the camera icon on the screen, the top-portion slides out showing the camera and the company claims, it pops up in just 0.5 seconds.

Oppo is betting big on its advanced front-camera for Face unlocking feature which is said to be far more superior than other rival brands and also the physical fingerprint sensor. It uses 15,000 facial points to recognise the face and has a False Rejection Ratio (FFR) score of one in a million compared to the former, which has one in 50,000 (FRR).

Other specifications include Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage and 3,730mAh battery, which is more than enough to keep the phone running for a whole day under mixed usage. It also boasts VOOC flash fast charging capability. Oppo Find X costs Rs 59,990.

Vivo Nex:

Vivo Nex is also one of the very few phones in the market that can boast of true Ultra FullView screen with 19.3:9 aspect ratio and yes, it does not feature the iPhone X-like notch. It has a slightly thicker bezel at the bottom, but everything else on the front panel is a fully functional display.

In order to achieve an Ultra FullView screen, Vivo engineers have managed to incorporate motorised front-camera behind the screen and when trigged for a selfie, it will pop up in less than a second and retract in no time.

They have also installed an in-display biometric sensor saving a good chunk of physical space on the front panel.
