Now, gifting smartphones are a rage among people, and handset makers in their bit to cash-in on the festival season launched a slew smartphones in India.

Samsung Galaxy On7 and Galaxy On5 -

Both Galaxy On7 and On5 are budget smartphones. Key difference between the two is that the former sports 5.5-inch HD screen , 3000 mAh battery and 13MP primary camera, whereas the latter features a smaller 5.0-inch screen, 2600 mAh cell and 5MP camera on the rear-side. Rest of the specifications remain same in both devices.

Both come with Ultra Data Saving and Ultra Power Saving modes, which help with the data compression and app management capabilities to help users save up to 40% mobile data and close to 50% longer standby time depending on the smartphone model.

OnePlus X -

Unveiled in October, OnePlus X sale began in India on 5 November via Amazon. It sports metal-frame around the bezel, and has a 5.0-inch full HD display at the front with Gorilla Glass 3 shield.

Under the hood, it houses Snapdragon 801 series quad-core processor, 3GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt memory and a 2,525 mAh battery.

Microsoft Lumia 950 series-

On 30 November, Microsoft launched flagship Lumia 950 and its phablet sibling Lumia 950 XL in India.

Both the devices are slated to hit stores later this month for Rs 43,699 and Rs 49,399 respectively.

Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL come with pretty much the same internal hardware, but differ on a couple of features. The former sports a 5.2-inch WQHD (2560x1440p) screen and runs on the Snapdragon 808 Hexa-core processor with 3,000-mAh battery, whereas the latter boasts of a bigger 5.7-inch WQHD screen and houses Snapdragon 810 Octa-core CPU backed by a 3,340-mAh cell. Lenovo Vibe S1 -

The main USP of Lenovo Vibe S1 is its camera. It boasts two snappers — an 8MP primary camera with BSI sensor and f/2.2 aperture, which is said to capture high-quality selfies, while the secondary 2MP snapper will analyse the depth of field. It provides detailed information of a scene so users can re-focus objects on the photos using editing tools.

On the rear side, the Vibe S1 houses an equally impressive 13MP camera, which boasts of dual-tone LED flash, PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus) and a BSI sensor.

HTC One A9 and Desire 828-

HTC One A9 is more like a mid-range iPhone running Android OS, as it features a strikingly identical design language of Apple's 2014 series iPhone 6.

It flaunts an all-metal body with curved corners and also the white antenna strips (top and bottom) on the rear-side are uncanny. The only difference is that the HTC phone houses the primary camera module in the top centre, whereas the Apple device features the camera on the top left-corner.

Besides the One A9, HTC also launched Desire 828 in India last month. It sports 5.5-inch full HD screen and runs on the Android Lollipop OS powered by MediaTek Octa-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt storage, 13MP camera, 4µp front-snapper and 2800 mAh battery.

Both devices will hit stores mid-December.

Micromax Canvas 5 -

Canvas 5 flaunts a metal frame and comes packed with powerful 64-bit 1.5GHz MediaTek Octa-core SoC (System on Chip), backed by sumptuous 3GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt memory and a 2900 mAh battery, which can run the phone for close to 514 hours under standby mode.

Gionee S Plus and Marathon M5 -

Gionee S Plus features 5.5-inch HD AMOLED display, Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, 64-bit class MediaTek Octa-core CPU, 3GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt memory, USB Type-C port and a 3150-mAh battery.

Just a few days after the launch of S Plus, Gionee released Marathon M5 in India. It boasts two separate cells having 3010 mAh capacity each, enough to power the phone for four days once fully charged. No other smartphone offers this feature in the market.
