Having received such a massive response from across the globe, Baahubali 2 is bound to be compared with other legendary Indian movies. One such legendary Hindi film is Ramesh Sippy's Sholay. However, the director feels that Baahubali 2 is a much greater success and there cannot be any comparison with Sholay.

"Baahubali 2 is the first ever film in the Hindi industry that garnered such enormous eyeballs. The tremendous success at the box office that it has received is historical. There can be no comparisons with our film what so ever," Deccan Chronicle quoted Ramesh as saying.

Continuing to applaud the success of Prabhas-starrer, the director said, "Baahubali 2 has made money right from its first show, whereas Sholay was declared a flop, only to later come back on track after a few days. There can be no comparison to Baahubali 2."

For the uninformed, Sholay was vehemently criticised right after its release, and it was declared a flop in its initial days. However, the movie later picked up momentum, and is now considered as one of the cult Hindi movies.

Apart from Prabhas, the film features Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj, among others in the lead roles.
