Ajith has become the most desirable man of Tamil Nadu, the results of which was declared by the The Chennai Times for the year 2014.

An online poll conducted by The  Chennai Times has declared Ajith as the most desirable personality, leaving behind his counterparts like Ilayathalapathy Vijay, Surya, Vikram, Dhanush, Simbu and others in 2014. The publication conducts the poll every year and for 2014, the actor topped the list. This is the first time that the actor has achieved the feat.

In 2012, Ajith was in fourth position and took the third spot in 2013. Now, he has ranked number one in the list of Most Desirable Men in Tamil Nadu. Surya slipped to the second spot from topping the list last year.

Dhanush has been ranked third, followed by Vikram, Arya, Atharva, Dulquer Salmaan, Vijay, Vidyut Jamwal and Vijay Sethupathi. However, Vijay's decline has surprised many as he is in the eighth position. He was in the third position in 2012 and was pushed to fifth place in 2013.

Others from film industry in the 25-member group are: Simbu, Siddharth, Anirudh, Karthi, Sivakarthikeyan, Jeeva, Vishal, Madhavan, Ashwin Kakumanu, Vikram Prabhu, Ashok Selvan, and Gautham Karthik.

However, Ajith winning the title has made his fans happy. They have welcomed the development and have set a trend on Twitter with the hash tag: #ThalaAjithTheMostDesirableMan.

Meanwhile, Ajith, after his hit movie "Yennai Arindhaal" with Gautham Menon, is ready to begin his next movie, which is presently called by the name "Thala56". The film was launched last week and would begin the regular shooting from 20 April.

"Thala 56" features Shruti Haasan in the female lead role. It is directed by Siruthai Siva and produced by AM Rathnam.
