'Tevar' Box Office Collection: Arjun-Sonakshi Starrer to Earn ₹8 Crore on Opening DayFacebook

Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha's "Tevar" failed to show any growth at the box office on first Sunday. The three days box office collection of "Tevar" is in the same range.

"Tevar", directed by Amit Sharma, minted just ₹22.05 crore from its theatrical run in India. The film had a decent start on Friday, but the business failed to grow over the weekend.

On Friday, the film minted ₹7.05 crore, on Saturday it fared in ₹7 crore and on Sunday it minted ₹8 crore.

The film had built up decent hype on social networking sites before its release. The songs and trailer received positive reviews from audiences, while the promotion on social networking sites grabbed the limelight. But surprisingly the film failed to reflect the hype in its collection.

The collections of "Tevar" are now being compared to Arjun and Sonakshi's last outings at the box office.

For Arjun, "Tevar" first weekend box office income is the third highest after "2 States" and "Gunday". Both "2 States" and "Gunday" were declared super-hit at the box offices last year.

"Gunday" earned ₹43.93 crore in debut weekend, while "2 States" earned ₹38.06 crore. While the collections are below par, it fared better than "Finding Fanny".

On the other hand, for Sonakshi "Tevar" collection is 10th highest. She has worked in around 12 films, until now, and only two movies are behind "Tevar" in its opening weekend total.

Critically acclaimed film "Lootera" earned ₹19 crore, while "Joker" earned ₹15.75 crore. "Son of Sardaar" and "Dabangg 2" holds the record of the top two highest grosser.
