Caught on camera by TeamBHP, the prototype of Safari Storme is seen without any hint of camouflage like before. The most intriguing part is the VARICOR 400 badging on the front fender of the model. Tata Safari Storme facelift is likely to be powered by a 2.2-litre four-cylinder VariCOR diesel engine with improved output of 160 PS. The current model has the capacity to produce 138 bhp of power.

The company is also believed to be testing an automatic version of the same model, but it is not sure whether it will be launched in India.

The changes in the facelifted avatar of Safari Storme are likely to be limited to visual modifications; previous spy shots have indicated a refreshed front grille.

Inside the cabin, the model in question is likely to get a touchscreen infotainment system. Going by the buzz on the Internet, Tata Safari Storme facelift is likely to hit the showrooms by mid-2015 with a price tag slightly higher than the current version of the model.

In 2015, Tata is also expected to launch a new hatchback Kite and sedan in India. Kite hatchback is expected to get power from the company's new 1.05 litre three-cylinder common-rail diesel motor, which can churn out power of 64.1bhp and 14.27kgm of torque, and the all-new 1.2-litre petrol engine.
