It appears like many models of Tata Motors have hit a dead end, as reports emerging on the web indicate that the company is planning to discontinue Vista, Manza and Sumo Grande/Movus from the Indian market in the coming months.

A report in ET Auto.com claims that Tata's Vista, Manza and Sumo Grande/Movus will be phased out in the next three to six months due to poor sales. The company would be producing only 4,000-6,000 units of these models to clear the inventory before they are withdrawn completely from the market. Going by the report, the production of these models is likely to stop by August this year.

Apart from Tata, Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest carmaker is also planning to phase out its Ritz models from the market to make way for its new premium hatchback YRA. If reports are to be believed, Ritz will be out of the market by May end.

US auto major Ford's Figo and Classic will also be axed, as the company is bringing new generation Figo and Figo Aspire to the Indian market in the coming months.

The production of Figo Aspire is underway in the country, with the model expected to make its market entry by June this year. It is likely to draw power from a 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine and 1.2-litre TiVCT petrol unit with manual and automatic transmission. There have also been rumours about a 1.5-liter petrol engine, which would come mated to a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission.
