Snapped by Indian autos Blog reader Mayur Kumar while the car was undergoing tests near airport road in Dwarka, Tata Kite was seen still hiding under significant amount of camouflage. Tata Kite is being rigorously tested in the country to meet the criteria of a cool car before its launch. Although Tata is yet to reveal the launch details of the new Kite, rumours floating on the web indicate that the new hatchback will make its market entry in the second half of this year.

Under the hood, Tata Kite hatchback is expected to pack the company's new 1.05-litre three-cylinder common-rail diesel motor, which can churn out power of 64.1bhp and 14.27kgm of torque, and the all-new 1.2-litre petrol engine. The model is also rumoured to feature e-clutch system, a system similar to AMT, which allows drivers to use manual transmission for first gear without using the clutch.

A recent report had said that Tata Kite will be called 'Glade' in India. The model, which is likely to be priced around ₹4 lakh, will compete with the likes of Maruti Celerio and Hyundai Grand i10.
