From Suspicious Partner to My Sassy Girl, 5 most awaited Kdramas to premiere in May

A few of the most popular Korean television series, such as Rebel: Thief Who Stole The People and Saimdang, Light's Diary, will be airing their finale in the next couple of weeks, and viewers are eagerly waiting for the new shows that are premiering in May.

Although all the broadcasting networks will be adding at least one period drama to its programme list, only a handful of them have managed to impress viewers with their trailers, posters and interesting plots. These include two of the upcoming SBS series — Suspicious Partner and My Sassy Girl.

The MBC period dramas, Ruler: Master of the Mask and Bad Thief, Good Thief, have also managed to capture the attention of viewers with their attractive storyline, along with KBS mini-series, Individualist Ms. Ji Young.

Individualist Ms. Ji Young

The mini-series, which is written by Kwon Hye-Ji and directed by Park Hyun-Suk, is scheduled to premiere on KBS2 at 10pm KST from May 8. It revolves around the life of a individualist named Ji-Young who meets Byeok-Soo, a person who cannot live without relationships.

Individualist Ms. Ji Young features Persevere, Goo Hae Ra star Min Hyo-Rin and Drinking Solo actor Gong Myung in lead roles. The trailer and posters for the period drama are yet to be released.

Ruler: Master of the Mask

The MBC drama revolves around the life of a Crown Prince named Lee Sun and his lover, Ga-eun. It is scheduled to go on air every Wednesday and Thursday at 10pm KST from May 10.

Ruler: Master of the Mask is written by Park Hye-jin and directed by Son Hyeong-seok. It features Remember - War Of The Son actor Yoo Seung-ho and Guardian: The Lonely And Great God actress Kim So-hyun in lead roles. Watch the trailer below:

Suspicious Partner

The Korean period drama features The K2 star Ji Chang-wook and Shopping King Louis actress Nam Ji-hyun in lead roles. It will be telecast on SBS every Wednesday and Thursday at 10pm KST from May 10.

Suspicious Partner, which is written by Kwon Ki-young and directed by Park Sun-ho, revolves around the life of a former prosecutor named Noh Ji-wook and his complicated relationship with trainee Eun Bong-hee. Check out the trailer below:

Bad Thief, Good Thief

The period drama will be aired on MBC every Saturday and Sunday at 10pm KST from May 13. It follows a group of thieves, who try to manipulate elite people from the society. 

Bad Thief, Good Thief is written by Son Young-Mok along with Cha Yi-Young and is directed by Oh Kyung-Hoon. It features Wanted star Ji Hyun-woo, Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo actress Seohyun and Sweet Stranger And Me actor Kim Ji-Hoon in lead roles. 

My Sassy Girl

The SBS mini-series revolves around the relationship between a popular scholar from the Joseon era named Gyun-woo and the quirky Princess Hye-myung. It features Please Come Back, Mister actress Oh Yeon-seo and Yong-pal star Joo Won in lead roles.

My Sassy Girl, which is written by Yoon Hyo-je and directed by Oh Jin-seok, will be premiered on May 29. Check out the official trailer for the Korean drama below:
