'Super Singer 5' grand finale live update: Anand Krishnan wins the title

Anand Krishnan won the "Super Singer 5" title and Faridha ended up in the second place. While the winner was awarded an apartment worth Rs 70 lakh, the first-runner up walked away with Rs 10 lakh. 

Rajaganapathy won the Judges' Choice of the day Award and was declared the second runner-up of the Tamil reality show. The grand finale of "Super Singer 5" was held Friday, March 18, at DB Jain College, Thuraipakkam, Chennai.

Faridha, Rajaganapathy, Siyad, Anand Krishnan and Lakshmi Pradeep were the five top contestants, who were in the race to lift the trophy.  All the five contestants performed well but in the end it was Anand Krishnan, who had the last laugh.

Faridha, Rajaganapathy and Siyad are direct finalists, while Anand Aravindakrishnan and Lakshmi Pradeep are wild-card entrants. All the five will be a part of two free-style rounds in the grand finale and will be performing with pianist-cum-composer Stephen Devassy.

Faridha M 
Fareedha is well versed in classical forms of music and she is the first direct finalist of "Super Singer 5."
Rajaganapathy
Rajaganapathy is a carnatic singer and won the Most Progressive Singer Award. He has sung well throughout the show.
Siyad K
Siyad is good in classical, folk and western genres and received the Soulful Singer Award.
Anand Krishnan
Anand is a rising star and received Creative Singer Award.
Lakshmi Pradeep
Lakshmi Pradeep has performed consistently in the reality show and is good in all the genres. She received the Expressive Singer Award.

Musicians Sid Sriram, Gana Bala, and Sean Roldan will be thrilling the audience with their performance in the grand finale of "Super Singer 5."

The winner of "Super Singer 5" will be declared based on the judges' decision and the audience votes. People can vote for their favourite singer on the official website of the reality show and the voting lines are open till the second round of the grand finale.
