Disneyland is buzzing with everything Star Wars since "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" hit the theatres recently. A number of Star Wars attractions have been opened as part of a special theme known as Season of the Force.

According to The Los Angeles Times, in January, the park will permanently shut down several attractions to make room for the upcoming Star Wars-themed park.

Six attractions will be closed temporarily during construction of the 14-acre Star Wars area. The attractions are Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes, Sailing Ship Columbia, Fantasmic!, Disneyland Railroad, Mark Twain Riverboat and Pirates Lair on Tom Sawyer Island.

Four other attractions, namely, Big Thunder Ranch, Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue, Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree and Big Thunder Ranch petting zoo, will be permanently closed.

In 2012, Disney acquired Lucasfilm and the Star Wars franchise for $4 billion. The seventh Star Wars movie titled "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" was released by Disney on 18 December. It became the fastest film to reach the $1-billion mark in 12 days, surpassing Universal Pictures' Jurassic World's 13-day record.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" also holds the record for the most box office collection records, with 37 domestic-related records so far collected in various states and provinces.
