Apart from Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Princess Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher), fans of "Star Wars" can also expect Darth Vader in "The Force Awakens".

Speculations suggest that the character could probably play an important role in the seventh instalment of the epic space opera.

News about the Jedi's return started doing the rounds after an article in The Jedi Temple Archives teased about it. "There is an EPISODE VII Darth Vader 3.75" 5POA figure. More on this soon!", stated the entertainment website.

The second official teaser trailer of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" shows a shot of Vader's helmet, but it is not clear whether the character will physically appear in the movie.

As speculations continue about the powerful Jedi's return, the latest one suggests that he could appear in a flashback sequence, according to Making Star Wars.

"Darth Vader is somehow in a flashback sequence from pirate Maz Kanata's (Lupita Nyong'o) castle where Skywalker is explained to our heroes, such as Rey (Daisy Ridley) and stormtrooper Finn (Daisy Ridley)," stated the website.

The portal even stated that Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) could eventually wear the helmet or the dark side might use "the burned up helmet to make it work for the line."

But since there are no official confirmation on the character's appearance, fans will have to wait for the release of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" to know more about it. The movie is scheduled to hit screens on 18 December.
