SS Rajamouli's magnum opus "Baahubali-The Beginning" (Bahubali) created several records at the Indian box office and now, the makers are ready to release the blockbuster for an international audience.
The movie starring Prabhas and Rana Daggubati in key roles was 2.39 hours long. But the international version will reportedly be shorter by almost half an hour. "The international version would be 2 hours 10 minutes long. The release plan is not yet finalised. I will let you know," Bollywoodlife quoted Rajamouli as saying.
Meanwhile, Telugu star Nagarjuna, who was apparently awestruck by the movie, compared the international version of "Baahubali" with "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon" and asserted that it will serve as the benchmark for Indian cinema.
"Now that an international version is being released, I hope it does to Indian cinema what 'Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon' did for Hong Kong. I feel 'Baahubali' is a benchmark. Everything that will now happen in Indian cinema will be judged against the excellence of 'Baahubali'," the report quoted Nagarjuna.
Simultaneously filmed in Tamil and Telegu, "Baahubali" was dubbed in Hindi and Malayalam as well. The historical fiction created a storm at the box office ever since its release in the month of July and is still running pretty well in certain parts of the nation.
Rajamouli received all round applause for the movie, which turned out to be the highest grossing Indian film with a worldwide box office collection of almost Rs 600 crore.
