Ace director SS Rajamouli, who is known for introducing several new technologies to Tollywood, has now launched the first Telugu hashtag on Twitter for the promotion of his upcoming film "Baahubali".

Twitter recently added a new feature -- Hindi hashtags for India -- and the first hashtag #जयहिन्द (#JaiHind) went viral during the cricket match between India and Pakistan on Sunday. Today, #हरहरमहादेव is a trending topic in India. Following the success of Hindi hashtags, the website has now launched Telugu hashtags and SS Rajamouli is the first man to create the first hashtag.

On 17 February, SS Rajamouli created the hashtag #బాహుబలివస్తున్నాడు, which means Baahubali coming soon. With the period drama "Baahubali" slated to hit the screens on 17 April, the director has planned to use this hashtag for the promotion of the film. He is expected to use it to attract more number of Telugu audiences.

Besides creating the Telugu hashtag, SS Rajamouli revealed to his followers that the production of "Baahubali" is in the final stage and he would soon announce its release date. The director tweeted, "Post prod. & song shoot going on. We will inform trailer, audio & movie release dates very soon. Stay tuned! #బాహుబలివస్తున్నాడు."

Meanwhile, SS Rajamouli suggested his Twitter followers to use the hashtag. He wrote, "I was told that #బాహుబలివస్తున్నాడు is the first Telugu hashtag and that From now we can hashtag in Telugu... Feels good...:)"

In response, one of his followers with the handle ‏@bhavanamashok revealed his excitement over the hashtag. He tweeted, "First Telugu hashtag #బాహుబలివస్తున్నాడ Feeling good @ssrajamouli."

Another fan used the same and requested SS Rajamouli to release the trailer of his much-awaited film "Baahubali". Anil Kumar ‏@anilkotipalli tweeted, "@ssrajamouli sir please release the trailer can't wait #బాహుబలివస్తున్నాడ."

SS Rajamouli has 1.04 million followers on Twitter and his two tweets with #బాహుబలివస్తున్నాడ got 600+ retweets and 600+ favourites within a couple of hours after the launch of the hashtag. This hashtag is expected to trend on the website.
