SS Rajamouli, who is the creator of the Baahubali world, will reportedly direct superstar Mahesh Babu's next film after wrapping up Jr NTR-Ram Charan's RRR movie, which went on floors today.

Post the release of Baahubali 2, both SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu shared their interest to work with each other. There were reports on their movie on several occasion, but none of them proved to be true.

But the latest buzz in the industry claims that the two have found a subject for their first movie together and it may be a multi-million extravaganza. However, the budget is not the main consideration here.

"Mahesh Babu wants Rajamouli to create the kind of cinema that will be a game-changer, just like Baahubali. But he doesn't want another Baahubali or a costume drama. The two have been throwing ideas at one another and they've finally cracked an idea," Deccan Chronicle quoted a source as saying.

Mahesh Babu is currently busy shooting for his 25th movie titled Maharshi, which is directed by Vamsi Paidipally and produced by C Ashwini Dutt, Dil Raju and Prasad V Potluri. He has already signed his 26th movie with director Sukumar. It is said to be a period drama and it will be is bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers, which earlier produced Mahesh Babu's blockbuster film Srimanthudu.

On the other hand, SS Rajamouli announced to direct Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the tentatively titled movie RRR after the release of Baahubali. After a long wait, this project was launched at an opening ceremony held in Hyderabad on November 11. The film unit has started its regular shoot from today (November 19). It is going to be a bilingual movie shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi.

Director SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu are expected to complete their respective commitments by the end of 2019 and take up their first project together. This movie is likely to go on floors in 2020 and will be completed by the end of the year. The movie is like to hit the screens around the world in 2021.
